Project: Work from St. Michaels
St. Michael’s residency, May-June 2014: The fifteen plates here were created and editioned during my stay at St. Michael’s Printshop, in St. John’s, NL. I had a lot of fun over the month I was there seeing the surrounding area. I was able to see icebergs close up, and it was fascinating to see them both from the shore and closer from a boat; something I hadn’t ever seen before. While I was in St Johns I tried working a little differently than I normally do, taking the time to experiment. I went back to working with pure mezzotint, as opposed to combining it with other techniques in the small plates, and combined collagraph and etching in other works.
