Description
The iceberg here was run around not too far outside of St Johns harbour entrance when I saw it. We were able to go quite close and see it on the ship to get photos, circling a few times. There were quite a few icebergs that year while at the residency in May – evidence of further melting from the Greenland ice sheet. This started a years long fascination with ice and glaciers that continues in my new work as well.
While at the residency I worked on several small scale mezzotint plates (rocked ahead of time!) – this one was made with a 45 gauge rocker, and is a bit rougher.
